GRAMMAR PRACTICE UNIT 2 (11°)

Remember the differences between the use of past simple and the present perfect tenses. Regular verbs are formed into the two tenses by adding ED at the end while irregular verbs, you have to use the correct form according to the list (second and third column, respectively).

SPEAKING ACTIVITY (9°)

Model the following conversation for your group and get ready for the oral activity next Thursday June 07th. 


A: What do you want to do this weekend, Jack?
B: Let´s go on a picnic.
A: Good idea! We could have a picnic at the beach.
B: No, I don't want to go to the beach.
A: OK, How about the park south of town?
B: That sounds good.
A: Let´s ask Tony and Melany to come, too.
B: Sure! Now, the most important thing. what food should we take?
A: I´ll bring some fruit and cheese.
B: Have you tried my chicken salad?
A. UH! melany is vegetarian. She doesn´t eat meat.

A. I´ll come over to your house to help you, if you want.

A: Sure. I´ll bring bottled water and some fruit juice.

A: Great, and I´ll call Melany. Bye!

THE ARTICLES A-AN-THE (7°)

Remember:
Use A or AN before a noun the first time you mention or talk about someone or something. Then, if you have to talk about it again, use THE.

Example: They have a car.
               The car is blue.

PAST SIMPLE TENSE (10º)

Remember to practice the past forms of the verbs. If the verb is regular you have to ad "ED" at the end and if the verb is irregular you have to select the second column in the irregular verb list. Try to hand in this list for every activity.

SOLIDARITY (11º)

WHAT IS SOLIDARITY?
Read the following definitions of solidarity ( taken from your book) and then,  think about what you believe demonstrates  solidarity to others:
- "working together as a community"
- "a group or community of people, uniting around a common interest or cause".

Write words  related to this important value. Here you have some ideas:
human rights, justice, poor  people...

FOOD GROUPS (9º)

We can classify food by specific groups depending on its nature, properties and uses. Look at this video and try to listen the vocabulary it mentions about the food groups. Look up the meaning and practice it.


PLACES IN THE CITY (7º)

Look at the picture of some  places in the city  and make a list of others places you can find around you. Write them down into your notebook.

In a bank, I withdraw money.
Write similar sentences with others places.
